What does everyone do for a living

What does everyone do for a living? Just curious. Want to see if I can relate to anyone and how GTD plays out in their work.

I am a manager for a restaurant.

Tech writer

Been working as a software tech writer, currently as a contractor for a governmental agency.

Found out about David Allen's web site years ago before his book came out, when the newsletter was weekly, and when its "forum" was a single unthreaded ribbon of messages and some posters felt the Palm users were hijacking the board. Lost, innocent days.

I juggle multiple projects at my workplace and am more structured there than I am at home, which seems to be the case with most people. I'm currently taking two online courses, am in a writing group, and hope to pay attention to my wife and friends now and then.

I've been influenced most recently by Thomas Lemoncelli's book "Time Management for System Administrators" and Mark Forster's book "Do it Tomorrow."

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
